Miss Ruda
Dance Instructor
Ruda has a lifelong passion for dance, beginning her training at the age of three and developing extensive experience across multiple disciplines. She is formally trained in ballet through the Royal Academy of Dance, completing examinations up to Advanced 1, and in contemporary dance through DanceCor, also achieving Advanced 1.
Ruda holds an Associate 1 Teaching Qualification in Contemporary Dance and is currently working towards her Associate 2 certification. She is also a qualified BASI Pilates Mat Instructor and holds an Honours Degree in Biokinetics (equivalent to an Exercise Physiologist in Australia), providing a strong foundation in anatomy, injury prevention, and safe movement practice.
Ruda previously ran her own dance company in Namibia for six years and is currently the owner of RH Dance, a contemporary dance studio where she continues to inspire young dancers in a supportive and creative environment.
Miss Mia
dance Instructor
Mia has a lifelong passion for the performing arts, having trained in a variety of dance styles from a young age, with a particular love for tap and ballet. Alongside dance, she has a strong interest in drama, giving her a well-rounded appreciation for performance and creative expression.
Mia holds a degree in Education and is currently a high school teacher, where she brings creativity and enthusiasm into her classroom. She plays an active role in leading both a dance troupe and drama club within the school setting, supporting students to build confidence, develop their skills, and engage in meaningful performance opportunities.
Committed to her ongoing development as an educator and performer, Mia continues to further her training and expand her knowledge within the dance industry. She is passionate about creating a positive and inclusive environment where students feel encouraged to grow, and she looks forward to sharing her love of the arts while contributing to a vibrant and thriving community.
Miss Cathi
Singing/Drama director
Cathi is a highly experienced and passionate music educator with a strong academic and professional background in the performing arts. She holds a Bachelor of Education, majoring in Creative Arts, and an Associate Diploma of Music, Australia (A.Mus.A). She is currently working towards her Certificate of Teaching (C.T.Mus.A) with AMEB, demonstrating her commitment to ongoing professional development and excellence in music education.
With over 25 years of performance experience, Cathi has developed a rich and diverse career on stage, performing both professionally and within the community. Her experience includes youth and community theatre, recording studio work, and collaborations with choirs, orchestras, and big bands.
Cathi is passionate about nurturing confidence, musicality, and a love of singing in her students, creating a supportive and encouraging environment where every voice can grow and shine.
Fiona
Studio owner/Operator
Fiona is the founder of Raining Star Studios and brings a unique blend of performance experience and wellbeing expertise to the studio. She has a background as a solo singer and entertainer, and has written and recorded her own album of original songs. While her performing career was cut short due to a health condition, her love for music and the performing arts continued to grow and inspire her path forward.
Alongside her creative background, Fiona holds a Diploma in Counselling and is passionate about supporting mental health and wellbeing. She believes that music, dance, and creative expression can play a powerful role in building confidence, connection, and personal growth.
Through Raining Star Studios, Fiona aims to create a welcoming space where people of all ages can explore the performing arts, nurture their wellbeing, and experience the joy of learning, growing, and letting their inner sparkle shine.
